The true way goes over a rope which is not stretched at any height but just above the ground. It seems more designed to make people stumble than to be walked upon. --F. Kafka--

Death of a Part-time Actor/Carpenter

April 10, 2006

My girl and I were walking towards the bus stop the other night, when the news broke.

My grandfather died.

I suffered a horrendous headache, after receiving the SMS from my mother. It was probably from the shock of it all. I never TRULY expected that he’d die, because I thought he was still too strong to let go of this world.

He was a man of many things. He was a carpenter. He likes building and making things. I remember him making our cabinets. After varnishing the wood, he would place kiddie stickers on it. It was like his own little trademark. When I see those kiddie stickers, I would remember the smile he had–proud of his handiwork, knowing that we would be happy receiving them as gifts. We still use those cabinets to this day.

I also remember him telling this humorous story about his experience working for the film industry. He was an extra in a war movie. He played a Japanese soldier, fighting the Filipino rebels in Manila. When he got shot by one of the leading men, he would fall down and do the “spasm” dance. Once out of camera range, he would stand up and fight the same guy again. Thus, the Japanese army was born out of four men. They didn’t need no CGI then! LOLZ!!

He died young (70). But he left a lot of things behind as a testament to his contributions. He left my mother, my brother and I. In May, my daughter will be one of his contributions as well. Thanks Grandpa.

Jung and The Dog Who Bled Stars

April 9, 2006

February 26, 2006, must be around midnight.

I’ve been devouring a book lately.

C. Jung

It’s C. Jung’s autobio, “Memories, Dreams, Refelctions.” I have to admit that this has moved me. The “Early Years” and “School Years” are a “things to come” sort of thing.

It has brought to mind an old dream of mine. It has been burned into my mind somehow. It has never left me. I dreamed it 25 years ago.

The Dog Who Bled Stars. (more…)

A Month Later…

April 4, 2006

I stopped blogging for a month.

I just wanted to know if I’ll be able to make it without blogging. The answer was pretty much clear.

Yes.

Although, I was writing in my journals quite a lot (hmm…future blog posts).

—————————————————————————————————————————————————–

I was involved in a quick stint as a problogger. I have to admit that it was pretty hard. One lesson I learned:

HAVE YOUR OWN PC/Mac

Yes, I don’t own a computer, I do all my blogging at the office. Yeah, me bad. Naughty even. Heh.

The problem with what happened was that I needed to do my researching and work at the same time. I find it hard to do with my boss breathing down my back all the time. Although, I wanted to TRULY blog for them, I had to stop. I didn’t want to get fired yet.

I’m sorry.

——————————————————————————————————————————————————

Things have been changing around me lately as well.

I’m a Training Specialist now. That means, the load is a bit lighter. Unlike the old times where I do the recruiting, 201 File/updating/managing, AND training. I don’t know how this will affect my blogging though.

—————————————————————————————————————————————————-

Fuck, I miss blogging.

I missed all my blog friends as well. I still comment on some of them, but not as much as I used to.

I’m thinking of getting my own domain.

http://www.theaccidentaltaorist.com

ahh….like the sound of that one!

Yeah! I’m planning to use wordpress on that one as well. Just need a little more dough to go for it. I’m choosing host sites as of the moment. This will be my last (and most expensive) jump.

—————————————————————————————————————————————————

I’m glad that even though a month has passed. People still come by to see my blog. I really am touched.
